Anyone have experience with this? Heading out to doctor soon. He will probably send us to see a specialist. I'm so aggravated. Just started this year. She has not got her period yet if that matters.

Half a squeezed lemon every day can help. Even before symptoms.

High doses of cranberry tablets. Sold in health food stores.
She'll probably need to take low dose bactrim...

Add that lemon to a glass of water, and a tablespoon of D-Mannose powder. You can find it at any health food store, or on iHerb.
D-Mannose is an invert sugar that makes the urinary tract and bladder very slippery, so that bacteria cannot get a grip on the lining. (Kind of like trying to hang on in a water slide, LOL.) It has a very faint sweet taste, nothing nasty or bitter about it. (Don't let the word "sugar" scare you, it has an extremely low glycemic index.)
The only thing about D-Mannose, is that if you take too much you can end up with diarrhea, so lower the amount in the lemon juice if that happens.
Another thing, is she taking baths or showers? She should only be taking showers, and NO SOAP DOWN THERE! Just warm water is enough to get private parts clean.

It might be one infection that has never fully gone away. Has she taken full antibiotics prescribed?
Another vote for only taking showers.
Most importantly, she should be drinking lots of water. More than you would think.

She needs to drink a lot of water to flush it out.
Is she wiping properly from front to back and completely? That was the cause of repeat UTIs in my niece.

Finding out the cause is your best bet. Constipation can be a factor by not allowing urine to fully empty. Limiting sugar can sometimes help. If she doesnt drink enough through out the day, she needs to. And use the bathroom often. There are certain exercises to strengthen the bladder so she has more control over urine.

I had that as a younger child (5 or 6 yo) and I had kidney reflux, which is what caused the chronic uti. I had a surgery.
Hopefully your daughter doesn't have that, but you should probably see a pediatric urologist

so I have no idea how common a cause this is, but I'll share my own experience in case it is relevant. I had frequent UTI's decades ago when I was that age, to the extent that sometimes there was blood in my urine. I remember my mother taking me to a (female) gynecologist to get checked out (I hadn't started menstruating yet) and also having my kidney function checked with radioactive dye. Really though, I probably knew I was causing the UTI's but was embarrassed to tell the doctor. You see, I was a huge reader and would get engrossed in my books, and I wouldn't notice the urge to urinate until it was pretty strong, and then I would need to forcefully hold it in until the urge lessened, in order to prevent an accident, until I could run to the bathroom. The doctor asked if I held it in, and I think I said yes, sometimes, but I don't think I admitted how much. I remember him saying that holding it in causes the bladder to stretch and thin, making it more susceptible to infection.
I only figured out a few years ago that I actually have ADD and I think this really explains everything (about that and lots of other things). So I'm just telling you about this in case you think this might be relevant to your daughter's situation. Hatzlacha and refuah shelaima!
