Has anyone substituted chicken broth in a recipe for a general tso sauce with soup mix mixed with water? (It’s much cheaper...) I assume it should work...

I buy the cartons of imagine no chicken broth when its in sale and use it in any recipe that calls for broth.

Right so that’s what I’ve been doing but they’re expensive and I have a recipe I want to make tonight and it seems silly to buy a carton only to use a few tablespoons. Not even sure how long it could be kept open in the fridge.
