I am making dinner for a family in my neighborhood for tomorrow night. (Cooking tonight).
Making chicken cutlets and a vegetable.
What starch/recipe should I make?
I have white rice, assorted shapes of pasta, buckwheat, and quinoa. I do not have potatoes, wild or purple rice, or canned mushrooms. It is almost 9:30 pm, and I cannot go out to a store.
What can I make that nice enough, is not too plain, but will be eaten by a family that I barely know, who have school-age and teenage children. I don't feel I can send plain rice or plain pasta. I also don't know that if I make quinoa with Craisins and edamame, that they would eat it. What looks nice, is it easy, and safe.
(I would say rice with onions and canned mushrooms, but I don't have canned mushrooms)

White rice, seasoned nicely and with a little oil is very tasty and not so plain.

Elbow macaroni or the sort. Shake it up with a mixture of bread crumbs & a little sugar
