I'm starting to wonder if I should get rid of some toys. We have probably 30 games and 20 containers of toys, tons of trucks, stuffed animals, crafts and about 30 books.

This!
Sometimes I think we should downsize but my kids actually use and enjoy all of what we have. The things they don't use and enjoy we mostly get rid of unless there's some emotional hangup. And then I have my own collection of things that they outgrew and things that they don't play as much that I use in my special ed practice.
Basically a floor to ceiling closet, plus a lego collection, plus some of the work stuff separate. What can I say, we love to play. I haunt Goodwill and the like; the closet itself probably cost more than the contents.

We have the IKEA shelves that have 16 squares. Whatever fits in there and on top of it. Plus a big dollhouse, toy kitchen, doll stroller and some ride on toys. Art supplies and a few books are in their rooms. I got rid of a Ton of stuff to get to this but it’s so much quicker to clean up and there’s enough options for the kids to choose what they’re in the mood of playing with.

Yes, that’s waaaaayyyy too many toys and games unless you’re running a kindergarten in your home. And even then...Children’s books tend to be small so 30 doesn’t sound like that many, but the playthings? Get rid of 2/3 of them and you’ll still have more than you need.
