Omg op! That happened to me as well!
Very upsetting, the money spend and the time and effort I spent shopping.
Please don’t say a word.
But learn for next time that this house doesn’t do laundry right.
This too shall pass.

If if was a paid nanny I would say something. Someone does you a favor and hosts your kid for 10 days you shouldn't say anything negative - just thank you and a present .

Btw today the rate is at least $110 per day, as far as I know to host a child.
So use the money you saved to buy new.
Please don’t say anything, it’s SO hurtful and sounds ungrateful.
If they need a new washing machine let them figure it out without you.
