I've flown from US to Israel with tons of cooked food, multiple times. Never had a problem.

You're not allowed to take meat, but I know people who've gotten through with it.

If it's in your hand luggage I'm sure it will get detected though

Kugels are fine.

You are allowed to bring in cooked meats as well as sausages, coldcuts, etc.
Anything but RAW meat is allowed.

Sorry your information is incorrect. I had VEGETARIAN salami taken away.

No, during the security check at Manchester airport. If it's in the checked baggage I assume will be okay even though I don't think it's allowed officially.

Firstly, Manchester Airport has no jurisdiction over Israeli imports so I am completely boggled as to why amother chatreuse's vegetarian salami was taken away. What happens if you were flying to London?
If it was in hand luggage there may have been a different security concern.
Secondly, easyjet also have no control or knowledge of foreign country food imports.
Finally, I took cooked meats and foods into Israel lots of times. I checked and was advised that cooked was fine, but if even one item was raw, I could risk getting it all thrown out.
