Hi,
I'm looking into Ohavei Torah in Riverdale for mesivta.
I'm very familiar with Darchei (originally from that area) so that's why I'm using Darchei as a comparison. Darchei is probably just slightly to the right of me hashkafically, and I'm wondering if Ohavei would be a good fit, and how it compares to Darchei generally. Anyone know? Is it hashkafically similar to Yeshiva Far Rockaway maybe? Just trying to get a sense.
And any other feedback on Ohavei would be appreciated.

Darchei is larger and their secular hasn’t been as good and the boys seem to have more exposure. Ohavei has exceptional rebbeim and good secular but everyone is afraid of the temperamental menahel.

I happened to know the Menahel professionally for a couple of years. I also know many Ohavei graduates. I don't think they're afraid (More than of any Menahel) and I wouldn't call him temperamental. The boys respect him and love him. He is passionately involved in their development. He is as predictable as they come. There is no negligible degree of temperament in his responses. It's a phenomenal Yeshiva with phenomenal leadership. its obvious from the product.
