How long is the most time you can let challah dough rise on the counter?

More than an hour and the texture of your Challah starts to go off. If you don't have time to deal with it, put it right into the fridge after kneeding, before it starts rising. It will slow rise overnight in the fridge.

1 more hour. You don't want crumbly texture challah.
