I haven never went to any of my kids' school dinner. I never had the money for it or had the interest in going and now I am thinking it makes me look like I am not an involved parents. Do you think I should make more of an effort to go? Do most people go?

In my experience, most parents go. Even if not both parents every year, they make an effort for at least one parent to go most years.

We had to pay $600. Mandatory payment. You bet I went. And I went hungry so I could eat as much as I wanted that night !

I don’t go but DH does usually if he can. The schools all expect the dinner fee to be paid anyway, regardless if you come or not

we don't plan on going. I don't think people would accuse us of being uninvolved though we don't really do homowork with our kids. horror but neither do a lot of the "leaders" of the community. It's a mehalach . We try hard not to be considered overinvolved .
