what would you recommend for someone who has recess duty and has to stand (not much moving) in the ffffffffreezimg school yard? The teachers all have a week on duty and mine is coming up. We have to be out there even on the bitterly cold days because there are always at least a few girls who want to air out a bit. The jacket I have now is too short to keep me warm. I haven’t bought a new coat in years so I want to do this right. I’ll spend what I have to spend to stay warm.

These coats cost about $1000! Is it really worth it? Since you mentioned the brand I have noticed so many people wearing them!

And keep walking around. They don't have a doorway you can watch from where you prop the door open and get a bit of heat from inside every few minutes ?

The door has to stay closed so the hallways aren’t cold.

For one week you don't need to spend money. For all you know it will end up being unseasonably warm that week. Plan to wear layers, a scarf, and warm gloves, maybe even ear muffs. A long sleeve silk undershirt.

Don’t forget warm boots with thick soles or insoles.
