I have a friend in rehab for eating disorder and is gonna be there through Purim. Was thinking of visiting her the day before. Anyone have ideas about something to bring to her or to do something to help her feel good and cheer her up? (No food)

Art project? Is she into those things?
They make plenty of different kinds of kits for adults.

I'm thinking like a beaded bracelet.
Purim themed may be harder because so much revolves around food.

That is a great item to buy yourself or as a bat-Mitzvah present. Hakarat Hatov really can change your life.
However, if I was in rehab, remember-eating disorders a psychological based, and someone was preachy enough to give that to me, I would smack them with it.

I would think that the visit itself plus perhaps some flowers would be nice.

Flowers, books, balloons, posters, a spa package, mp3 player filled with music, art stuff, a journal with some fun pens........

You really have to know the person.

Can you just call her and ask what she needs or wants?

There are organizations that go around to visit sick people on Purim. They come in, sing, dance, give shalach manos, etc. I don't know where your friend is, but do you know if anyone in that area does it? I remember when my sister was in the hospital, she really appreciated it.

Op here
Thank you all for ideas! Will look into it... she says she doesn’t need anything but still would like to get her something. Maybe will get some puzzle and word game and crafts to keep her busy.

Leave her a funny hat, wig, colorful nails and eyelashes or something that she can put on to make it feel like Purim!

Most tzedaka organizations collect in Purim, and will send a card to those you give in honor of.

Send her a few pampering things. Nice hand lotion. A lip balm. And a small game like Rush Hour.
