When you look back on the years when they were younger, what would you have done differently?
My kids are in elementary school and I am already sad that they are getting older every day. I love them and we spend a lot of time together and I really enjoy them. However, I am usually tired/busy/stressed and some days I just survive/collapse.
If you could go back, what would you have made the top priority? What would you have been stricter about/more lenient about?
I would love to hear your regrets and advice so I can learn from you.

I was close and affectionate with my son when he was little.
But when he got past bar mitzvah and was all day in yeshiva, I became disconnected.
I didn't know if my son would appreciate hugs and kisses so I stopped.
Didn't know much about yeshiva life so conversation became stilted.
I realize my son was hurt that I didn't make more of an effort to stay close - even
if he wasn't recipricating. Other moms were showing love by sending home baked goodies but
I didn't realize that was a thing so I didn't.
Hope this helps.
PS Son is now married and relationship is closer. More in common - can talk about work
and kids. But regret that I didn't make more effort in his yeshiva years.
