A lot. Like $10,000 for the year.

When my son was in the Mir last year they included room and board. So a bed and food is covered by tuition.

My son didn’t end up going, so I don’t know exact details. I think it’s more if they dorm, less if they don’t. But food is definitely covered.

AFAIK, all or at least most of the boys in the Mir sleep in the dorm. At least my son and his friends did.

When my husband went, first year was renting a dirah and you earned your way for the dorm for the second year.

When my husband was a bochur, about 13 years ago, he started off in a dirah, and then, after some time (a few months? A zman?) of being in a yeshiva, being at minyan on time, coming to sedorik, was(accepted?) To the dorm

Mir serves meals. The food is so good, that my dh stayed for lunch in yeshiva most days during the six years we were in EY. (As an avrech)

My son was just there last year and he went straight to the dorm. No pull or anything like that. I thought that was the norm.

Beis Yeshaya was built since then. It includes a dorm for English speaking talmidim.
