I have an Elkana and a nephew Elkana. My nephew is kenny.

We sometimes call my Elkana Elk, Eli or Kuni.

People tell me they love the name.

The most "regular" sounding nickname would be Eli . But I agree that elkanah is a beautiful name

Yocheveds where I am are always call Cheved or Chevy... Elkanas are Kanis (pronounced Kuni). Not every name needs a nickname
