A new study Jan 2020 published in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine questions the testing methods used to determine the efficacy of Cervarix and Gardasil.

https://journals.sagepub.com/d.....99308

the whole thing is interesting but here is the conclusion

Quote:
This review has revealed many methodological problems with the Phase 2 and 3 efficacy trials of HPV vaccination leading to uncertainty regarding understanding its efficacy.

Cervical cancer – It is uncertain whether HPV vaccination prevents cervical cancer. The trials were not designed to detect this outcome, which takes decades to develop. For most outcomes, follow-up data exist for an average of only four or five years.

Oh, no, you again?

At least post under your screen name, so that everyone can see it's the same person who always posts anti-vax stuff.

I'll look at it later but I've learned that most of what you write is either misunderstood or just rubbish.

And, you don't really want comments. You just want to bump your thread to spread your incorrect conclusions to more people. Your own mind was very firmly made up long ago.

Just going to add that the HPV vaccine (which I'm not a fan of myself, but that's a side point) never claimed to entirely prevent cervical cancer. It claimed to prevent the STRAINS OF HPV which MOST OFTEN lead to cervical cancer.

The difference is quite obvious.

You're rudeness is uncalled for. You can ignore my thread or the vaccinations forum in its entirety. You are welcome to post your comments about the topic at hand. If you feel the need to attack me and my position personally, you should take a step back. Feel free to post under your own SN before demanding I do so. Have a wonderful day!

I guess this difference isn't quite obvious to the CDC:
Quote:
CDC now recommends 11 to 12 year olds get two doses of HPV vaccine—rather than the previously recommended three doses—to protect against cancers caused by HPV.

I vaccinated all my kids but this is one vaccine that I wont be giving. I read up on it a lot and personally feel like the cons out weigh the pros.

Can you explain? I didn’t do the research but I have a friend who is battling cervical cancer that she got from a strain of HPV that the vaccine protects against. I’m inclined to give this vaccine to my daughters when it’s due because of my friends frightening diagnosis and prognosis.

I am very sorry for what your friend is going through.

That being said, there are many people who have had severe adverse reactions associated with this vaccine.

I suggest you do do your research on the potential benefits and the potential risks of the vaccine as well as the odds of contracting the disease weighed against the efficacy of the vaccine (as posted in my OP) so that you can come to a decision that is right for your DD. Good luck in whatever you decide!

How did your friend get that strain of HPV?

Rape or molestation of either her or her husband?
Her own irresponsible actions?
Her husband's irresponsible actions?

I think the HPV vaccine should be given if a child is at risk. But not every child is at risk. That's a discussion you need to have with your kids and teens.

"Protect against cancers caused by HPV."

Breastmilk provides PROTECTION from certain diseases, even if it doesn't provide IMMUNITY from those diseases.

The vaccine can provide PROTECTION without promising full IMMUNITY.

It also does not promise protection against all strains of HPV, and CDC does not pretend that it does.

But let's not ignore the fact that there has been an 80% drop in the number of new cases of cervical cancer since the vaccine was introduced.

Depends who your child is and who his/her spouse is.

Funny anecdote, about a month ago DH and I were talking about this stuff. He said: "Theoretically, emotions aside, can you give a weight to what's worse about cheating - the fact that the person cheated or the risk of STDS?"

I said I would weight the risk of STDs as 80, and give 20 percent to the emotional aspect.

He said the same thing.

We can have this conversation because we both know that we are each other's first and only and that it's going to stay that way. And we can both say that with 100% confidence.

I know that sounds naive but it's not. It's just part of our marriage. And really, if you can't trust your spouse to tell you the truth before you marry, then why would you trust him/her enough to tie the knot?

Gardasil literally kills and it should be illegal to give it, not legally mandated.

Gardasil is SAFE! I have the proof! Check out these links.

After Gardasil was licensed and three doses recommended for 11-12 year old girls and teenagers, there were thousands of reports of sudden collapse with unconsciousness within 24 hours, seizures, muscle pain and weakness, disabling fatigue, Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS), facial paralysis, brain inflammation, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, blood clots, optic neuritis, multiple sclerosis, strokes, heart and other serious health problems, including death, following receipt of Gardasil vaccine.

The Japanese government stopped giving the Gardasil vaccine in 2013 after health officials recorded nearly 2,000 adverse reactions, according to the Tokyo Times. http://www.tokyotimes.com/side.....-take…/

There is the MIT and Stanford educated medical doctor who also has a Master’s Degree in Public Health? The one who is a vaccine developer and has worked for Merck, the manufacturers of the Gardasil vaccine? Dr. Harper has repeatedly spoken out against the HPV vaccine and raised serious concerns about whether it is safe. As reported by CBS News in 2009:http://www.cbsnews.com/news/gardasil-researcher-speaks-out/

I have a frum close family member who died of cervical cancer. I start vaccinations late but I'm caught up by the time they are mandated by law, age 4. We did measles and Hep B early because of my community risk.

I have many girls. I have determined, with my pediatrician, that my daughters will decide on Guardasil before they begin dating/ marriage. I'd like to wait a few more years for the advanced studies to come out before jumping on this bandwagon.

I am ok with the frank discussion I have with my girls at 16 to discuss this. So far my older girls have chosen to wait until dating and they are not yet dating.
