Mazel Tov!
It's not about what's in style, it's about feeling beautiful in wtvr u wear. Find something u like and feel good and pretty in and that's what u should get.
Styles dont equal beauty happiness and doesnt look good on everyone.
Go with what looks good on u and u should feel good and beautiful!

Would you go to a seamstress to have something made up?
You're looking for a gown length or short? If you post your location, we can help you with idea's where to look.

that's my problem. I'm looking online becuase stores don't have for me. For my previous simcha, I fell in love with this stunning two-piece and now I look at the pictures and am sad and think "did it really look like that on me?"
I don't mean style as in fashionable. I mean which kind of cut, long jacket or short jacket, etc

Im not a fashion expert, but I think long would look better for someone on the shorter/chubbier side. And personally, I don't like jackets, as they add bulk, and can be sweaty..
You can get long tops that are dressy and not bulky, asymmetrical kinds, or whatever suits you best.
Sometimes a simple top can be dressed up with adding embellishments from the trimming store.
Mazel tov on your simcha!

Jersey material is NOT a Good idea! It’s kings and shows every line and curve. Get something not clingy, layers are slenderizing

I suggest a coat dress set. Straight dress with an open (thin) coat over it.

Knit is slenderizing.

Mazel tov.

IMNSHO, find a store that has your size, and start trying things on. Don't worry if its tzniut, it can be slut-city for all you care. Don't worry if its casual. You're looking for shape. See what shape looks best, then have something made.

Also google Chrissy Metz. She always dresses well, and it might give you ideas. A lot of her stuff is off the rack, by the way. I like her best in empire waists.

I also suggest a v neck with a contrasting insert for tzniut. Its a flattering look for plus size.

I'm plus size, and straight dresses tend to make me look like a blob. OP has a shape; she needs to define it.

The secret to looking good is shape wear and a good bras.
It won’t make you look thinner, but it will make you look smooth

Don't think I'm crazy, I know someone who is heavy and shops at maternity stores. She does not look pregnant, in fact she always looks beautiful and put together. She davka goes to maternity stores because regular clothing in her size needs to be altered because it doesn't sit right. Maternity clothes fit her body shape perfectly.

Me too!!!

Where do you shop? I can’t find clothes.
I’m find straight skirts are the best. And jackets made of super good quality but not bulky. Just dunno where to find. Last simcha I spent on custom but I don’t want to spend 2500$ now
