I just read on the news that they've closed 18 schools here and they're thinking of closing ALL schools in the country. Hashem yishmor. Anyone else think that they're taking this too far or do you agree with the precautions?

They are not currently thinking of closing all schools. Those are just their plans they have released for in the event that there is an outbreak.
The schools that have been closed are because students from there just came back from a ski holiday in Northern Italy and they are concerned they may have come into contact with people infected with corona. Some of them even just closed of their own accord, even though the health authorities said no need.

Actually sounds like the UK government have a pretty chilled outlook. They said they don't plan to copy Italy and put cities under lock down in the event of a local outbreak, just to cancel large gatherings etc.
I personally think that would be reckless.
