Quit being so religious, and start being more JEWISH. Great video by R. Manis Friedman. It rambles a bit here and there, but he makes some really good points. I love the way he speaks and presents information. He's so relatable.

I feel your point is difficult because everything is done with the understanding that this is exactly what hashem wants. So what you call being "so religious" is what someone else feels that hashem is so proud that I'm taking on these extra things.
