What are other nicknames for Ephraim besides Effie? Thinking of using it, but really dislike Effie- and YES I am into nicknames! Wink
TIA!

I had a non-Jewish friend growing up whose name was Ephraim and people called him "Frummy". Gotta love the irony!

We have used "Fry" since he was about 6 months old. Also heard "Rami," and now his little sister calls him "Rye, Rye" so that's what we call him. We only use his full name (with his middle name) when we really need to get his attention. I also hated the name Effie when I was pg with him, so we were looking for alternatives and never let anyone call him Effie. Anon b/c anyone that knows me will know exactly who I am with this description :-)

Thanks for the ideas. Don't love them, but I guess we can also wait and see what fits. Just trying to see if there are any that we like to see if we are even going to use the name as the primary or secondary.
Actually, Rami may work bec. we were thinking of naming Avraham Ephraim- so it can work for either one! Smile

Last amother, Smile
I have no problem with a kid choosing to use his full name when he gets older or as an adult, but while he is still a child- I know I will be calling him nickname(s) because that is what I do Wink

A nickname does not have to correlate to the name always. You can call him :
Buddy
Feffie
Fifi
Pumpkin
Yummy
Jack
Finn
Wait-for-it

Whatever u want.

Thanks... 😏 I quite understand that nicknames can be anything. I thought it was clear I was asking for ideas specifically for this name. I was wondering what commonish nicknames for Ephraim were out there.

My son is Efraim. We called him effy for a few years but when he was 4 he decided he wanted to be called by his first middle and last name no nicknames. Now at 9 he is either first name or first name middle name. Nicknames are cute but sometimes our kids have other ideas.

How about Rayim (leave of the "Eph" at the beginning of the word)?
