Just curious, why is going to a program in a hotel any worse than going to your local shul?
I understand not going on a cruise or flight - lots of people packed in a small space germs spread fast.... but if people are anyhow going to go to shul is a hotel really any worse than that?

YES a Pesach program is different than being at home and attending shul.
Think crowds.
Think mass food prep.
Think mass prep overall as in washing stations and the like. Cleaniliness of mass washed utensils, plates, etc. More people touching, taking, sharing items.
Think more public places and spaces and less control over your environment.
Think public bathrooms.
Think staff.
And yes that is not even considering airports, flying, etc. if applicable.

People also go to pesach hotels from all different communities, in a Shul you will pretty much find all local people so if it’s not in your local community yet then you’re less likely to catch it in your local Shul than in a place where people come from all over.
Then all those people go home and spread it to all of their communities.

Sharing food, buffets, handrails, elevators, etc for 8 days straight in a hotel is a lot different than Shul for a few hours
