On Purim day, a visit was made
The purpose of which was clear
(Child) wanted to deliver mm to rabbi x
Since he’s enjoying every moment this year
Since mommy was busy with his new brother
He took matters into his own hands
“Take me to my rebbi, please”;
To Totty he issued the Command
Grabbing the goods that he prepared for his friends
He ran to pay a visit to you
Whilst leaving the originally designated one home
In the spirit of “venahapoch hu”
Since tovim hashnayim min haechad
No real harm was done
This second version we’re sending your way
For two is better than one!

So basically our Rabbis got the same as everyone else. It amounted to basically a piece of fruit and the rest was junk food. On the one hand, I feel the Rabbis should get something a little more special yet on the other hand, it's so crazy and my DH and I both work and we just weren't prepared this year.
If I had a MM specially for the Rabbi and I didn't give it to him because of a mix up, I'd definitely send it to him with DC. |
Pretty sure op is referring to a male teacher.

You should send it. It will make you feel better also.
As a teacher, I once received a mm with an envelope and just a note inside. While I was fine with that, I was wondering a bit because that isn't what people do in my circles... sure enough two days later the mother sent a check with an apology.

Mishloach manos? (This will be on Thursday, when school resumes.) |
No. He really doesn’t need it. I’m sure he was happy that your son came by on Purim. Mazel tov and rest up.

I hope teachers don't think I'm weird that I don't give checks with the notes.

No! Please don't take my comment in the wrong way. By no means did I intend to say the I needed or expected the check, or that I thought she was weird.
I know my crowd in my school, and in my circumstance, this was highly unusual. I'm not trying to set a blanket rule here.

Nope, my husband isn’t a rebbe but can’t guarantee she isn’t on here as I haven’t a clue who rebbe is.
Regardless, it’s not a poem expressing her heartfelt thanks for something that needs to be written by op. It’s simply explaining what happened...

My kids MM were fancier than mine!
I was also kimpeturin more than once on Purim and my attitude was, whoever gets gets and that's it! Maybe send another one with him or send note to explain. I'm sure he didn't think into it too much!
