Oh good lord, OP this is black humor. Have you heard of it? People are poking fun at the very thing that is difficult to deal with or that is difficult in their lives at that moment.
Its like when Israelis joke about sirens, rockets, stabbings. They arent really making jokes, but its one of the ways of dealing with it. HUMOR!!!

Its not meant to be offensive at all.

Oh good lord, yes, I have heard of black humor. Israelis joking about sirens rockets and stabbings? I haven’t heard of Israelis poking fun at those things but if they are, it’s their own lives they are poking fun at.

I heard that those in quarantine were giving out corona beer and stuff- and that I get. I’m talking about ppl completely unaffected... idk it bothers me. I don’t think that if chalila someone close to them died from the illness they would joke about it

First, no one dressed up as a corona patient, just like no one would dress up as a cancer patient.
Dressing up as corona beer, face masks, etc. is like siblings, children of patients, of a cancer patient dressing up as doctors and nurses, which actually happens often.

Let’s chill.
We’ve got enough things that are offensive.

Honest question here, is it offensive for children to wear native Americans costumes? To me the ornate dress and headgear is so beautiful, just wondering, what’s your opinion?

I don't think so. In Belgium, they dress up as Jews with big noses at their yearly festivals. They continue to do so after they are told its offensive to us.

But we mustn't dress up as different minorities even if its without any offensive undertones like big body parts.

Black people have let us know that they find blackface offensive for a long time now. So don’t do it, just like those Belgians should not wear those costumes (sounds awful!).

Native Americans is a culture, like Irish, Amish, etc. Blackface is a race, so are lehavdil Jews. Therefore, it's bordering rather offensive.

Not even talking about dressing up in an exaggerating manner. Big noses, money bag etc. That is certainly racist.

Another thought. Depends how persecuted you are because of your identity. No one takes offense when seeing people dressed as Dutch or Chinese. As usual, it's people's insecurities and vulnerability that makes them sensitive to it.
