I live in Flatbush and my kid gets OT. do you think I should send him there? It’s a room with OT equipment and other kids and therapists are there the same time.

I wouldn’t send my kids. In terms of Covid-19, it’s no different from a regular gym or indoor play area. My daughter goes to gymnastics, and they are closed.

I work in an OT gym. We are wiping everything down during and after session and are taking strict measures as for as sanitizing ourselves and the children. How is it any different than attending school. Obviously anyone that is having symptoms should not be coming.

The problem is that people are contagious before they become sick.

It's not a good idea to go.

Would you cancel your kids appointments for the forseeable future? Before the center closes? My kid really needs those sessions. I'm so unsure.

I canceled sessions today. Things are very up in the air right now with new cases being reported. There's no school on Sunday anyway so I feel like we should stay put today and see how things progress.

I would take it one day at a time. I have more than one kid who gets OT, and one who was approved but hasn’t started yet, so I know the “my kid NEEDS this” feeling. Cancel for today, then later on today or even tomorrow, you can reevaluate. For all you know, they will close before you even get the chance to cancel the next one.
