For the last two or three years. I've remembered that there is a connection between avodat "perach" and "karpas," something about how they have the same letters except samech. Which is 60.. something about 60 times something...

Anyone know the rest? Help please. I usually only remember at Seder and then forget. But j just remembered it now.... Anyone?

Samech is 60 which is 60 ribo- 600,000 Jews who left mitzrayim.
As in 600,000 Jews who worked parech

From a poem I wrote in elementary school:

Hello, I am Karpas
A spring vegetable, you see
In a salt water mixture
The Jews all dip me.

I'm not dipped for taste,
Please make no mistake
The reason I'm dunked
Is to keep kids awake!

Why I'm dipped in saltwater?
That's for the tears
That the Jews cried
In their slavery years.

Dipping is a sign of freedom
Like when we recline.
And the word Karpas is "Samach Perach"
Which I'll soon define:

Perach is hard labor,
Samach equals sixty
For the sixty myriads of Jewish slaves
From Egypt set free.

When you say my blessing, Ho'adama
As part of your seder
Keep in mind the bitter maror
Which you will eat later.
