As pointed out earlier, cars will be allowed on the road. I know that during the week restaurants were allowed to do take-away and deliveries, this may have continued on Shabbat (for ones that are usually open then ...). There are also minimarkets that are open seven days a week.

This is nonsense.

People walk around with cellphones. Some non-kosher grocery stores will still be open.

And it is perfectly ghoulish to celebrate a reduction in chilul Shabbat if it comes at the cost of people being confined to their homes and millions of people losing parnassa.

Some restaurants will be open - those who are doing only take out and are not kosher in the first place.

As others said, non kosher supermarket chains and non kosher mini-markets will be open.

And of course, people are still driving on the roads.

There will be a lot less chillul shabbat in public, that's for sure - but there are also a lot less people out in public. Our city was like a ghost town. All the shuls were closed this Shabbat in my area. Most people prayed without a minyan. People are not leaving their homes except to buy food.

Is it though?
