For Seder too?

Someone needs to post every kulah they’re seeing. I’m going to need all of them! (10 weeks pregnant, husband and I (my parents too) both have CV, first time being home in 25 years, have absolutely nothing yet)

Do you have a rav? I'm sure rabbanim are being asked many shailos, from can we use machine matzah this year to can we buy chometz now and sell it in case it's not available after Pesach. (Not talking hoarding but reasonable quantities.)

Hugs and I hope everything goes smoothly. Refuah shleima!

Bake your own. You are home anyway and it takes less than 18 minutes.

Ok just went to bingo. They definitely have as of 7pm tonight a ton...just not sure what I bought. It wasn't the regular whole wheat that I normally eat. Oh well...

My husband is working temporarily at the matza bakery.
They are still open and running.
Just fewer workers. 1) to have less people in a small room and 2) many of the workers who've been working the past 4 months are Israeli and went home.

They are working to fill all the orders that were put in. Including store orders. However, they are not taking new orders.

Yekkes prefer machine made specifically. Definitely worth asking your LOR.

That is the strangest thing...
do you know the reason for that?
I guess we keep on learning new things as time goes on——

If I remember correctly, I heard it's because machines are so precise there's no room for human error.

Thank you!!
I have been away from my phone and have not seen the thread since I posted. I cannot believe anyone, yet alone multiple people took that seriously. I feel like I am in an episode of the twilight zone.
How would that make sense at all!?!?
There are like 85 problems with making your actual matzah at home.
(Though it may be a fun activity with the kids- and make it with a specific twist-like bidafka 19 minutes so that the kids who are little can eat it now and not be confused with eating it 2 weeks before YT)

Check with a nearby Chabad Shliach if they have extra. I’m on shlichus and we were planning to have 100 people at our Seders so we ordered a ton of matzah. Luckily we were able to sell almost all of it to people who really needed it because for the first time in 18 years it will be just our family for the Seders.

It’s much harder for matzah to become chametz and there is a lot more control and precision. Machines are easier to clean then hands. Dough is constantly moving which is harder to control irl. Also person who starts machines has correct kavanos rather then relying on all the ppl along the way (I think that is the most controversial issue with machine matzah)

The first time I ate matzah at the Seder after getting married I was weirded out. Kids under bar mitzvah can eat hand matzah as long as crumbs don’t get mixed in condiments or food.

One small mistake and it is CHOMETZ GOMUR DOREISA

chas v sholom better to not have matza than to eat chometz

One is a positive mitzva

One is an issur karas...

I may need to use machine matz this year

I actually know a family whom make their own matza before and during pesach, since they hold by a chumra which says it all has to happen under 11 minutes. They do it on their grill, I think. It's a family-sized operation, and they do very small batches to make sure that everything is cooked and washed on time, but they do it.
