Anyone remembers this book? some similarities with what's going on?
I read it many years ago (2008) and don't remember the details... but basically the world was falling apart, no travel... and then Moshiach came....
I'm finding it creepy...

That was almost the complete opposite - electromagnetic pulse weapons took out all electricity which took down modern society. No communication whatsoever. No governmental authority.
We have an overabundance of communication and a major governmental crackdown.
But we do also have our entire world having come screeching to a halt in a way none of us could have predicted even if we saw this coming... could definitely be ikvesa d’meshicha... please Hashem!!!

Me too! I’ve been having nightmares about the book for years and when all this happened that was the first thing I thought of. Beyond creepy!

I haven't thought of it in years, but for some reason it occurred to me this afternoon when on my way to the supermarket before the new crackdown.
As far as I remember most of it focused on a rather long journey on foot to somewhere from which they hoped to embark to Israel... Well, I'm already here, so that's ok. See what happens next. Life is certainly changing. If it leads to Mashiach it will all be worth while.

Yup. I bought that book and read it years ago. I reread it a few times after that. Definitely have been thinking about it frequently ever since this coronavirus crisis started.
