We are going to be stuck indoors so instead of putting money towards chol homaid trips I’ll use that to buy a bunch of games.

My kids in that age range love ticket to ride, Catan, clue, life, 7 wonders... (although maybe 7 wonders is more suitable for my older kids, don't remember. )

Monopoly deal is fun and relatively cheap and quick to play. Not nearly as awful as regular Monopoly.

Twister can be problematic if you have mixed gender children. Additionally, if just have sons, playing together might make them have "tendencies".

I am not serious. I am poking the bear!!!

We love that game too. But I hate the name.
It’s more fun with 4 or more players.

Ticket to Ride is a winner all around.
Settlers of Catan is great for people who love games. People who aren't into gaming hate it. It's also on the pricey side.
Do you have the classics? Rummikub, Othello, Mille Bornes? Scrabble and Boggle for wordy types?
If you have a bunch of people Dixit is nice. It's not that much fun with less than 4 players though.
Oh this one was a big hit - also with groups, not less than 3 people of comparable level - we got it in Israel called Cortex but I've seen something that looks the same on Amazon I think called Braintopia.
Blokus is nice. Bananagrams is another great one for word play - it's better for uneven skill levels than Scrabble and Boggle because you don't need an especially high vocabulary.

OK I think that covers all our favorites for that kind of age, except some we have from my parents house that they don't make anymore (Pathfinder - not the one that Google brings up - and Can't Stop are what's coming to mind, good luck with that)

My younger kids were mispronouncing it, much to my horror, so we changed the name to cover your answers.

Forbidden Island and Forbidden Dessert. They're collaborative, which is nice, so even if your kid doesn't quite get the strategy at the beginning, you all play together and everyone learns (sometimes the kids are teaching the parents Smile ).
