The organization or chesed group that arranged for him to help you may have it or be willing to act as an intermediary if they are not comfortable giving it out.

Is the organization taking donations at this time? I would make a donation in his honor and let them know. Or ask if they can let him know that you made a donation to hatzalah etc in his zchus that by going out of his way he should be protected and able to continue giving
