If it's difficult to get maror these days, don't fret. The Rabbanim have said that in these trying times we may do with less than we're used to. I, personally, bought a jar of Golds white extra sharp horseradish, in case I can't get maror.

I don't think using romaine lettuce instead of horseradish is b'dieved at all. If I remember correctly from my school days, romaine lettuce is higher on the list of preferable vegetables to be used for marror.

Endive is what we use. It's as properly bitter as can be and on the acceptable list.

Just FYI, marror that has other ingredients mixed in can't be used for the mitzva. Check the Golds horseradish; it probably has vinegar and therefore is not kosher for marror.

Moishas supermarket in Flatbush is fully stocked. They have horseradish, romaine, parsley root. I even bought a sink insert there yesterday.

At the very beginning of veg aisle, on the left side (near the fish section.) They were in the lower part of the display near the floor. The right side of the aisle has plastic plates etc towards the end of the aisle.

That's where it was yesterday. Hope you find it. Good luck.
