I received an email today asking for extra money for the yeshivah DS attends to cover unexpected expenses to do with the coronavirus.
Are Yeshivahs subsidized by the Israeli government? Will the Israeli government help tide the schools over until things return to normal?
On top of everything, I am now anxious about DS's school.

I don't know what kind of yeshiva he attends, but if there are Israeli students, then the yeshiva gets a subsidy from the Misrad Hachinuch. Obviously this stops when the yeshiva is closed. Many yeshivas rely on outside donations. Probably a lot of promised donations are not materializing now either. So that might explain the request.
Where is DS now?
