Oh boy, memories!

Also try the Bobbsey Twins, Boxcar Children, and pretty much anything by Enid Blyton.

There’s a place in Connecticut called book barn
That’s just miles and miles of old used books everything is like $1-$2.
Maybe take a trip there. We take home bags and bags of books for like $20
Call first to see if open
Maybe there is a used bookstore closer to your house
It’s the shipping that brings up the cost

Some Enid Blytons are available for free download from Faded Pages.

I remember loving Trixie Belden books when I was a preteen, and I'm in my sixties.

Someone mentioned the Bobbsey Twins series earlier in this topic. The older Bobbsey Twins books are racist, which certainly represented the time period in which they were written. They have been rewritten to omit the blatant racism. Check the most recent copyright date before giving them to your children, or read it with them so you can discuss how society has changed. Google "Bobbsey Twins racist".
