just cook in water until fork tender. check after 2 hours, may need up to 3 hours probably not longer. it should simmer. not boil.

Agree. I make it with a mushroom sauce. Once cooked. Peel and slice. I make a sauce with mushrooms, onions, and celery.

My sauce is 8 oz tomato sauce, 1/4 brown sugar, and 3/4 cup of liquid it was cooked in (or water). Pour over sliced tongue and reheat it that way.

I just made a sauce for it yesterday. After it boiled, I sliced it. In a separate pot, I sautéed three onions and two boxes of mushrooms. After it sautéed for about half an hour, I added some fresh chopped garlic too. Added half a cup of potato starch that I dissolved in about a cup of water. Then I added honey, salt, paprika, and pepper. Enjoy!
