Can I cover my granite counters with contact paper? Can it hurt them at all? Should I just tape the contact paper on instead? Need to cover them but all I have is contact paper.

I always use contact paper on granite (we pour boiling water on it first). No issues, except a little residual stickiness here and there upon removal, which can be scrubbed off with a sponge and soap, soft scrub, etc.
Good luck. It's a bit hard to get smooth...takes time and patience, but it can be done.

Our ruv told us that granite counters does not need be covered, so didn't this year .

Granite can be kashered. There's no need to cover it.

Not really. We put towels on the floor and then wipe up anything right away and wash the towels. Much much easier and faster than covering.

I line with aluminum foil and contact paper on top. I like my kitchen to look like pesach so we don’t kasher the counters
