Last year I made a recipe for beefburgers or meatballs in a crockpot, which was delicious. I think it was from either mishpacha, ami, or maybe even from this site.
Does anyone know this recipe??
Or have any other ideas for ground meat, other than shepherds pie?
Thank you!

Meatballs come out delish in the crockpot. Just sub out the crumbs in your meatball recipe for mashed potatoes.
Same for meatloaf made in the crockpot over cubed sweet potatoes.

Oooh thanks for replying!
My normal recipe for meatballs also uses ketchup and mustard. I think I can sub horseradish for mustard, what can I use for ketchup?
And can I use potato flour instead of mashed potato?? It's late im tired, still have so much to do...
And then do I cook it in tomato sauce like regular?
Serve with mashed potato?
Thanks so much for your help, my family love meatballs

Potato flour will make gluey meatballs, so I don't suggest it. You can grate a raw potato to use in the meatballs instead.
Cook in tomato sauce seasoned with onion, garlic, oregano, a pinch of sugar and salt to taste. (Or just onion salt and sugar.)
Otherwise, a jar of marinara mixed with a can of cranberry jelly.
Serve over mashed potatoes.

You can make a meat lasagna thing
Take eggplant and cut it into thinnish strips lengthwise
Then alternate between layers of eggplant strips ground meat and tomato sauce.

This also sounds delicious, do I need to cook the egg plant first, or just lay it raw?
Maybe I will make it for next week, I have loads of ground meat.
I ended up cooking potatoes, and mashing to add to the meatballs, they're in the freezer now, thanks ramom!

For moussaka: Salt eggplant slices and allow to sweat for 20 minutes. Pat dry.
Brown meat, tomato sauce, seasoning.
Use half of eggplant to layer bottom of square pan. Add all meat. Top with remaining eggplant and press down firmly.
Make a parve bachamel sauce or cashew cream to pour on top. You can then add sliced tomatoes and sprinkle with toasted ground nuts if you'd like.
Cover loosely and bake at 350 for 1 hour, then uncover for 10 minutes.

You need to slice them and salt them and then wait until all the liquid comes out about 30 minutes.
