(I put this under Pesach because POTATOES)
So I very efficiently boiled a few potatoes last night so I could make hash browns today. Then I very inefficiently forgot to set a buzzer to see that they were cool and put them away. So woke up this morning & there they were!
The kitchen was on the cool side (not 60 but not 80 either). Do you think they are safe to eat? I am sure DH can eat them, he can eat anything. But I have a more sensitive stomach. I am thinking just boil some more, right? But I only have 5 more lbs as I never did a big fruit & veg order.

Taste a small piece and see if it tastes good. Not supposed to be spoiled after one night.

I would eat them if they tasted alright but I would use them in a dish where they were reheated again.
But I live dangerously sometimes as I have eaten foods after their expiration date - cut mold off cheese and eaten the rest.
FWIW, I wouldn't eat meat that had been left out but plain cooked veggies seem to me to be in the same category as bread which isn't dangerous when left at room temperature. I am obviously not a food scientist but I haven't killed myself or my family yet :-).

I left a pan of mashed potatoes out overnight last week. After researching, I decided it was safest to toss them.
