That would mean going to the kitchen person for a consultation and giving a sizable deposit.
No one would be doing work here for months because it takes time to make the cabinets first.
I think wherever they make the cabinets, it will take them longer to make the cabinets anyhow until the staff is back at work after COVID19.
I also cant shop around for anything in the meantime because everything is closed.
What are your thoughts?
What can I do in preparation, besides looking on Houzz etc and deciding what I like?

I personally wouldn't give a monetary deposit now. The company might not survive the current crisis and will not be able to keep their side of the contract to manufacture, supply and install your kitchen.
