I was unaware the viruses had thoughts and know what we think they should respect and what we think is normal. A virus is a non-sentient being. It doesn't have respect and doesn't know anything about normal.

This is just being nasty for the sake of being nasty. OP was sharing her feelings about the virus. And she didn't imply that the virus had feeling or intellect. It doesn't have to act consciously for its effect to disrespect our sense of normal.
