Years ago I decorated my living room myself and it looked like it was done by a decorator.
My taste is traditional, with maybe a bit of a transitional feel, but much more traditional.
Im looking to reupholster my sofa and work from there.
What fabric can I use? Ive had a dark color brocade on my sofa for many years and I want a change. The dark brocade fabric was very elegant and very durable and very practical because of the quality of the fabric, and the dark color didnt show stains.
What fabrics are decorators using on sofas in traditionally decorated homes? Can anyone post pics of sofas theyve seen in traditionally decorated homes?
Which companies in Brooklyn do nice upholstery work?

Our friends recently reupholstered a Harrod's couch they had had from when they got married (BH, many, MANY years and children ago!) The original had been an elegant gold brocade, but they redid it in blue velour of all things, and it looks understated and stunning. They added some throw pillows in blue jewel tones, and it's inviting and perfect for their space.
