When kids take the Lego set that's for a certain design, and then just dismantle it into the general population. Losing it forever.

Nope! I'm an out of the box person, and I love to see creativity. It's a sign of high intelligence. Kids always teach me new ways to play.

Lego purists will argue that's the right way to play with Lego

I disagree, pulling challah apart with your hands and then giving it to others (as in guests) is gross

I strive to be as out of the box as I can be and I am EXHAUSTED by how creative my kids can be (BH) with reverse engineering EVERYTHING IN THE HOUSE.
we never have dental floss (used to build treehouses with bamboo hacked from the yard)
or shampoo (used to make 'potions')
or soap (same)
or Playmobil (deconstructed to create elaborate setups that can never ever ever be reconstructed)
play chairs (used as slides, tentpoles, sleds, sleighs, and - I lost track, then the legs unscrewed for guns, clubs, etc etc)
curtain rods (wands, Gandalf staff, guns, more clubs, gates, locks)
or anything really. that's just what I can remember at the moment. No matter where I hide these items they evaporate.
Not that I'm complaining just... exhausted by creativity

Scotty, your kids could get into the Ivies. They like to ask open questions like, "What uses are there for a brick?"
I'm not surprised that such a creative and thorough mom has such creative and thorough kids. You can use your creativity to figure out hiding places for your toiletries. Did you hear the story of the kids who made a beautiful living room carpet? They made toothpaste swirls.
