I love your playroom colors! Beautiful.
Where did you get the desk?
I don't allow food in the basement either but I don't have a great vacuum cleaner for carpet. What do you use to vacuum it?

The desk and chairs are from ikea.
Which vacuum do you have? I use a cheap one since I never really had carpet before.

I have a cheap Bissel canister vacuum. I only use it on regular floors, didn't think it would pick anything up on carpet. But maybe if the carpet is low pile it may work. I didn't grow up with any carpet and look at it like such a burden!

Where does everyone keep their toys? I have a big empty space without closets. Can anyone post links to shelves they use for games books and toys please

I haven’t read the whole thread so I apologize if someone gave this idea
Years ago I saw a picture of a basement made into a playroom

They took board games and hung the board on the wall as decor that can be taken down when they wanted to play
The pieces were in a box also hung next to each game

If you scroll down there’s an idea on how to do this

A partial view of my basement. There’s a couch and window on the other side.
It’s very bright.
My older kids are there a lot especially with friends.
My younger kids I need to settle down there and then they stay there for ages, and definitely with friends.

I love it!

I now have built in storage but beforehand I bought from Ikea. I am not neat enough to have only open shelves and storage. I like doors.

I looked on their site but was so confused with all options. Do you know which one you had?

We paint ourselves. I’ve done many rooms. It’s easy to do. I would encourage you to do it yourself if you are up to it.

If your wall is basically straight and doesn’t need much patching you can try. Doing the geometric triangles with painters tape is very simple- you don’t need to make it even etc.

You can buy very cute sticker
decals at places like Amazon so that you don't need to work hard on painting a design.
