My daughter had a white dress with black trimming. Which detergent is best so the black shouldn’t bleed?

It’s a sheet. Not detergent.
Directions are to put in machine before clothing in a mesh bag.

Yeah, put it in the machine with the dress. You can use 2 the first time you're washing it.
Use your regular detergent as well.

Yes wash the dress by itself in the machine together with 3 Shout Color Catcher sheets in the main drum. Use regular detergent in the regular detergent dispenser
