Korean Lettuce Wraps (or salad, but wraps are more messy and more fun). It's kind of like tacos, but at a whole new level.
Cook beef and add bottled teriyaki sauce of your choice*. Cook down until sauce is very thick and sticky. Add sriracha sauce if you like it spicy. I like it with extra fresh chopped ginger added just at the end of cooking. Adjust according to your kid's taste.
Have ready bowls of fresh bean sprouts, chopped toasted peanuts, toasted sesame seeds, and thinly sliced green onions.
Take a large leaf of romaine (like you do for Pesach) and fill up with the ingredients. Meat should still be hot, and the lettuce and sprouts should be very cold, so coordinate carefully. The contrast in temperature is what makes it special.
Fresh sliced pears make a refreshing and traditional side dish or dessert.
*If you are trying to control sugar and/or salt intake, feel free to make your own teriyaki sauce. Don't forget to add some corn starch to thicken it. Silan makes a great sugar substitute in this, and you can use low sodium soy sauce.

I made Arayes today for the first time. I liked it but some of my children didn't eat it because the inside of the pita is wet and gooey from the meat juices! The pitas were very well done. I wrapped them in foil first 5 minutes and unwrapped until done!
Not sure if I'll make it again! I think it might be easier to serve hamburgers and pitas on the side!(especially if you have some leftovers!)

I want to try arayes tonight for supper. Any good ideas for a side dish that's not salad?

Any roasted vegetables. I like a mix of cauliflower and broccoli.
