I randomly started being hoarse. Don’t have other symptoms. Is this a beginning sign of coronavirus?

Could allergies cause hoarseness? I’m new to allergies but think I have it this year.

Can your voice be affected by allergies?

"It's true that the throat and vocal cords can become inflamed or irritated because of an allergic reaction, including seasonal allergies, which can even lead to a temporary change or loss of voice," says Rebecca Howell, MD, assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the UC College

I also got hoarse totally out of nowhere the week before Pesach. Got tested in case it was a coronavirus symptom and I tested negative.

I know someone who was hoarse from the virus. He had other symptoms too.

If the hoarseness was combined with a bad headache and a fever, then I'd be worried. If it's just a hoarse throat on it's own, then I'd be more inclined to say allergies.

Right now I'm sneezing and coughing a lot, and I'm not sick at all. It's just pollen, B'H. Lots of pretty flowers out right now! Flower

I'm bumping this up. Pesach time I had what I thought was a bad cold the Dr said its allergies and I should take claritin. I didn't see it helping. I am horse since some days worse, some days better. I am a yeller today I yelled at my kids. But I haven't done this in a long time. There were days I couldn't even talk any ideas.

You need to see an ENT specialist (or otalarynoglogist) who will put a scope with a camera all the way down your throat to your vocal cords and look if there is any actual voice issue.
There could be an issue with the vocal cord itself unrelated to any germs or allergies
Like a nodule or perhaps the vocal cords strained. I might not be using the right terminology but these issues are common.
