I saw mentioned in a few places that NJ was approved to offer P-EBT payments to all children who qualify for free/reduced lunches.

Does anyone know when those payments are going out to those who already have EBT cards? What about to those who don't (and are getting special P-EBT cards)?

I know some states sent them out already & I could really use the money to shop for Yom Tov.

What about those of us who didn’t qualify but now would? What numbers are they basing it on?

Just curious where you got this info. I've been trying to find out and haven't been successful at all.

Just checked my EBT account online. It looks like it was set up today & will be available on my card tomorrow.

For those who have asked about this ... my girls’ school does NOT participate in the lunch program (we do get snap, though).

They said cards would get mailed within the next week. I imagine those will only go to those whose schools participate.

From the LLRC
18. Is there any additional assistance to help purchase food during this time? (Updated 7/2/2020)
Yes. A nutritional assistance program called Pandemic-EBT (P-EBT) was created to assist during COVID-19. NJ will be providing each eligible student with $416.10 to help with nutritional support. No application is necessary to receive this benefit. Human Services is working with schools to identify students who were receiving free or reduced school meals. Eligible students already participating in SNAP will receive the Pandemic-EBT on their household's existing Families First card. All other Pandemic-EBT eligible households will be mailed a P-EBT card. Benefits to be delivered starting July 8th.
