Hand them bleach spray and paper towel or Clorox wipes and let them clean. Guaranteed they'll get better at aiming.

Use white vinegar was then wash again with mr clean.
I googled how to get the smell out cause my whole house smelled like urine☹️

Also check if the toilet is firmly against the floor. If not, urine can leak under there and the only way to clean it is to take off the toilet.
(True story in my house when we had a plumber come)

Thanks to all for all of the great ideas you posted!
Update: I bought these on Amazon the other day, hopefully they should arrive soon.
I found them a little more tasteful than sticking a fly into my toilet, and hopefully they're discreet enough that nobody will think us completely bonkers.
I also told my kids about it and they were laughing hysterically. Let's hope this works!

Oh my...I'm reliving those days. However, after my oldest, during potty training, had the lid slam on his 😳..(it was awful)...it became a rule that all boys will sit until they start school...And...then they had to use a clorox wipe on toilet & wall after each use...SO if they didn't wash their hands, at least they got disinfectant on their hand! 🤷♀️ Now...they are all dads, and this applies in their homes as well.

Anon because I've told this story irl....
A few days ago my 4yo said "imma I'm sorry but I peed all over the walls"
Me: uuhhhh ok why???
10yo: sometimes it sticks
4yo: my doodle kept going to side even when I was holding it
Me: well that answers the question in imamother
