Has anyone changed to keep an earlier motzaei shabbos zman?

Please only respond if you have.

Yes. We are home and it is possible, and I believe accepting Shabbos even a bit early brings bracha to our home and protects our family. My husband isn't so excited about it, but he agreed for the above reasons while we are quarantined.

Earlier MOTZAEI Shabbos? What onEarth does that mean? Do you mean starting early Shabbos on Friday night?

It means not keeping zman rabbeini tam. I think that’s 15 minutes after the zman most yidden go by. Correct me if I’m wrong

No.

Not sure if you mean started now or have we ever made the change? My husband and I both grew up with 72, but our rav holds the earliest time. I just check the ami magazine and do the earlier zman even though I think my rav actually holds even less. It’s just easiest for me that way, and I’m not really in a rush for it to be over Smile

Yes I did. As a girl I kept rabeinu Tam. My dh keeps an earlier zman both Fri night and motzei shabbos so that's what we do.

We keep Viznits zman, it's around 17 minutes earlier than rabbeinu taam. I believe it's the earliest zman.
But our zman shabbos is also earlier.
Maybe you should ask a sheila if you may switch. Maybe it's something you need to be matir neder for.

I keep whatever my shul says. Whose shittah it is I have no idea. The calendar I have in the kitchen is stricter, licht is always earlier and oys shabbas is always later, but I use that if I haven't checked the shul website. It annoys me that while many calendars show licht benchen, very few tell you when oys shabbas is.

I think skver has an earlier zman by a few min. Viznitz it usually exactly 15 min earlier on Fri night. Motzei shabbos can sometimes be 13 min too.

It depends if you're in Brooklyn or upstate. The Brooklyn zman is afew minutes later than upstate.
This past motzei viznitz zman was 9:04 and regular zman 9:21. It's usually 17 minutes difference.

The proper thing to do would be to call your Rav. You run into ssues of minhagim and issues of breaking a kobalah. Not saying you can't, just need to ask.
