I read here that theres Shabbos permissible Upwords, and one thats not allowed to be played on Shabbos bec tiles lock into place.
Can anyone post a pic of the UPWORDS thats Shabbos permissible, where the tiles DONT lock into place?
(I have Bananagrams. The grandkids like it, the adults not so much).

you can make up your own word games by laminating sheets with letters in squares and cutting them. Then you separate vowels and consonants and draw 8 letters, who can form the longest word...

I knew a girl who was a math genius. She came up with a way of tallying points by using a deck of cards. I watched her the whole game, and I never did understand her system, even though her whole family had no trouble using it. They were all geniuses at Scrabble in general, so after the first round I just sat back and watched.
As for Bananagrams, it was usually the kids who left the Shabbos table in the afternoon to go out and play, and the adults who sat around and played. Some other neighbors would come over to join in, and we were VERY competitive!
I taught Lymnok how to play, and she beat me on the first round.  Her mom was always really good at Bananagrams, so I guess it must be genetic or something.

Scrabble is allowed if you dont regularly play it with writing scores during the week. But only the regular board, not deluxe. We use books with page numbers and bookmark our scores.
