My anxiety level is sky-high at this point, especially every time my husband makes a plan for fall semester or speaks to a student who has a new, exciting idea about programming. I just don't know how I'm going to be able to go back....

I am not so sure college is opening in the fall. I have received countless emails about on-line contingency plans, to my daughter's dismay.
Thank you for the wonderful work that you do. You are an invaluable asset and an incredibly important part of the student lives, impacting their futures.

Schools and colleges in every state are definitely preparing contingency plans just in case they can't fully reopen, even if they haven't officially published them.
It's a wait and see situation. They really just don't know yet.
They may open for classes but have restrictions for gatherings and programs. So, op, it's probably wise for your husband to come up witha plan b. Just in case.
