Can I please brag a little bit? I lost 7 pounds!!!!

Four kids, 15 years of marriage and 37 pounds later and I wasn't losing weight. When I was younger I was the girl everyone hated, I could eat and eat and eat and not gain a pound. So when my metabolism caught up to me in my 30s I didn't know how to handle it. I have never had to watch what I ate and it's soooooo hard to have to completely change my habits like that.
Being home now I have more time to think about what I'm eating and to meal plan. And I have somewhat of a routine/schedule so I'm also able to exercise everyday. I just started all this 3 weeks ago and I already lost 7 pounds. That in itself is all the motivation I need to keep going.
My end goal is not even the whole 37 pounds - my initial weight in my low 20s is not a weight I think would even be healthy for me at this stage in my life.
My goal for now is 25 lbs
So that's 18 more to go. I know I can do it Punch

Congrats! I find that this time also allows me to have time for exercise. I do a workout app that is only a few minutes but I do it whenever I can so it is several times a day and I have more time to cook. I am finding it a lot easier than always eating on the go and being too exhausted to work out. Keep it up!

Can you share the name of the app? Sounds like something I could try, not too intimidating but helpful.

It’s great you are doing what works for you! Don’t stop! (Also, exercise is not so helpful to lose weight in general but is VERY helpful for fitness and an overall feeling of wellbeing!)

I'm following the Weight Watchers purple plan. It allows unlimited fruits, vegetables, eggs, and a few other foods. But they also warn that this is all in moderation. So I am being very mindful of what I'm eating. I'll give a couple of ideas below. Also just to note, the first couple of days were so hard - I literally felt so hungry. But after 3 or 4 days my body got used to it and I rarely am hungry between meals.

Breakfast -
Coffee, no sugar, splash of skim milk
Coffee protein smoothie

Lunch -
Either an omelette or hardboiled eggs
Side of romaine, chickpeas, blackheads
Or green beans
Or veggie soup

Supper -
I usually have what I'm making my family, but in a healthier version.
Large salad
A carb of whole wheat pasta, or brown rice
I use salsa as my "salad dressing"

I'll usually have a fruit at night for a snack, either a grapefruit, or pear

I'm allowed 16 points day, and I usually use less than 10. And I think that's why I'm losing weight. If I were using the full 16 points each day and taking full advantage of all the "free" foods, I don't think it would be working

UPDATE: I've lost a total of 16 pounds so far Surprised

Honestly, I can't believe I'm even writing this. Losing weight was something I had convinced myself I could never do
I'm not just bragging at this point, I want to be an encouragement for others. Even if you've tried 15 times before, try again, change up what you're doing, don't give up!!!
